Attempt number 10 at keeping a blog alive. Why I keep coming back to writing, what this one will be about, and the plan to make it stick this time.
For the 10th time, I've decided to start writing a blog. Almost every time, the first post was also the last, so doing better than before isn't, in theory, very hard. But anyone who's ever tried to write regularly knows that in practice, it's actually really hard. Discipline and consistency are tough skills to build these days, but at least I've got PERSISTENCE going for me. Let's give it another shot :)
Why I decided to try writing again
Keeping a blog comes with a lot of benefits:
- Great for learning: the exercise of writing about something you're interested in or studying helps create reference points that make you learn better
- Personal branding: maintaining a blog/portfolio helps build a professional image in your field. In my case, Software Development, Artificial Intelligence, and Startups are the areas I plan to focus on
- Networking: good blogs become go-to references in their space, and that leads to interactions through comments, newsletters, and emails that generate value way beyond what you'd expect
- Writing skills: writing regularly improves the quality of what you put out. Back in school, I was an avid writer. I had articles and short stories published in books and newspapers. But I never took it seriously, and that was a huge waste.
What am I going to write about?
The idea behind the blog is to serve as a portfolio of my projects and to write about what I find interesting happening in real time in software development and Artificial Intelligence, fields that are changing radically right now.
How I plan to write
My plan is to write the main body of the content I publish manually, without AI. I'm also building the platform I use to blog, and it's integrated with AI for things like SEO, metadata, translation to other languages, cover image generation, etc. The idea is to use AI only where the quality is better than doing it by hand, not to churn out low-quality content at high speed.
